For $8,000 is this Four Winns 278 Vista Cabin Cruiser in “great condition” a bargain?
Before we get to today’s boat, 69% of you thought the Trophy fishing boat from Wednesday was a bargain. Based on the Facebook comments I was expecting a loss for this one! The people have spoken!
We’re back from a Thanksgiving day off with a potential bargain on a 1996 Four Winns 278 Vista for $8,000. This boat appears to be a fantastic deal on the surface. We’ll leave it to the voters to decide if its a resounding yes or no!
A winning deal?
The boat we are looking at today is a 1996 278 Vista. This 27 foot cabin cruiser is equipped with the optional dual Volvo Penta inboard/outboards. The boat can sleep the whole family in comfort with twin berths and a clothing locker. It comes equipped with a full galley including sink, stove, and refrigerator. The head is enclosed with a shower and toilet. This thing is set up for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres out on the water at sunset.

The Four Winns 278 Vista is for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Cape Coral, Florida. The boat has been stored on a lift in a covered slip at what appears to be the owner’s home. This comes with the full canvas top so the deck and upholstery has probably been protected well from the sun and elements. The owner claims it is in great condition and has 455 hours on it. The asking price is just $8000, compare that with others online and that price seems almost too good to be true! The cheapest 1996 278 Vista on Boat Trader is $22,995! This seems like a heck of a bargain for someone looking for a nice cruiser. The owner appears to have kept it completely covered in its canvas top, under a covered slip, and up on a lift.
