n. 28 (UPI) — Firefighters in Florida sent a hazmat team to a gas station where a man filling up his boat confused a fishing pole holder for the gas tank.

Orange County Fire Rescue said the customer at 7-11 in Orlando, Florida was planning to fuel up his SeaHunt Center Console about 11:30am on Monday when he accidentally pumped 30 gallons of gas directly into his rod holder. The fuel splashed right into the cockpit. Its not known why he let it continue fueling, maybe he went back in the store to buy snacks or just didn’t notice?

The man pumps fuel in his rod holder, 30 gallons worth, and then proceeded, after noticing the mistake, to put another 20 gallons into the fuel tank. At this point the fuel spill was deemed a hazard and fire and rescue was called out. Most of the fuel was siphoned out of the cockpit and the scene was cleaned up.
