A powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake was felt in Miami and several buildings were being evacuated in the city. There was even a Miami Tsunami warning, although that threat has subsided.

The Miami Police Department said , on Twitter, that it was assisting firefighters with reports of vibrations in downtown areas. As of yet there are no reports of injuries

The earthquake epicenter was 10 km below the surface. It hit at 2:10pm and was centered about 86 miles northwest of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and 87 miles west-southwest of Niquero, Cuba. It hit at 2:10 p.m. and the epicenter was 10 kilometers beneath the surface.

In Jamaica footage is coming in of the quake damaging buildings and roads.
