For $8,500 would you buy this Scarab Panther 30 with twin 454 engines

This is the start of a new series on HauloverInlet.com, we are going to find the best used boat bargains and share them with you. You decide if the price is right!

Today’s entry is this 1989 Scarab Panther 30, a real screamer in its day this example sports twin 454 big block engines mated to Bravo 1 drives. Originally this combo put out over 650 horsepower and a top speed of 70+ mph. The example we are talking about today looks to be in great condition, its a bit bland with its solid white paint, but fits the Miami Vice theme very well. In fact this boat is for sale right here in Miami!

Add a bit of graphics for your own flavor or ride it as – is, this Scarab Panther 30 seems to be a great deal at $8,500; but we’d love to hear your vote down below.

Here is one of these in action and they sound mean! (not the same boat)

Here is the seller’s description from Facebook Marketplace:

  1. Still available and if so do you have any pics of the interior. Also any transom rot or soft spots. I have restored two of these so far and looking for another.

  2. Wow just saw this page on the 1989 Scarab Panther.
I just bought the boat a couple weeks ago in hope of restoring it to original condition.
It is true about the Starboard motor has a knock, the aft stringers will need to be rebuilt and the paint is a little rough.
But I picked this boat up at a good price, plan to pull both motors and rebuild, rebuild the stringers and do a nice Vice style wrap on the sides.
