File this under “only in Florida”, a Florida Keys man was caught in Hawks Channel in possession of a (floating) stolen Tiki Bar!
The man, who police have yet to identify publicly, was stopped by the Coast Guard near Hawks Channel. According to The Coast Guard, the man showed clear signs of intoxication while operating the floating tiki hut, which doubles as a bar. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission took the man into custody after the boat(?) had been recovered.
“Don’t drink and boat” the Coast Guard later tweeted.

What is a Tiki Hut Bar/Boat? Its just what you think, a floating bar for 4-8 passengers to relax and enjoy an ocean breeze and a tropical cocktail or ice cold beer. Most of these are available through rental services that provide beer, drinks, ice, and a Captain/Tour Guide. They have a small outboard and travel at slow speeds. Want to try one yourself? Book here
This Florida man decided he didn’t want to pay the charter fee and would be the Captain, Crew, and guest on this floating, stolen Tiki Bar. We can all thank this enterprising Florida man for some light and fun news during these crazy times.
